The Department of Mathematics, Science and Technology guides and supports students and faculty in the successful achievement of their academic and professional goals, including service to the community as related to the natural sciences, mathematics, and technology. From this perspective, academic programs and activities are designed to ensure that student majors can successfully enter and matriculate in graduate and professional schools, the local and national workforces and be recognized as leaders in their chosen careers. Students may pursue a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in the following: Biology: Pre-professional Emphasis, Mathematics, and Mathematics: Computer Science Emphasis Minors are also available in the areas of Biology.
The Department of mathematics, Science and Technology offers a small family atmosphere. Our students have an educational experience like no other. We care about our students, and we take pride in their success. The Department is committed to providing student's enrichment experiences and exposures that will enhance their facilitation into and successful matriculation in professional and graduate programs. These enrichment experiences include an array of special activities such as: standardized test preparation workshops (MCAT, DAT, GRE, etc); travel to and active participation in undergraduate research conferences and symposia; health science seminars; assistance with placement in shadowing; mentoring; research; study abroad; and internships. Student participation in these activities is strongly encouraged.
